Children of John Henderson and Maria Gilroy

John was a Lieutenant and Adjutant of the 10th Royal Veterans Battalion. He married Maria Angelica Gilroy at Andhanan Parish Church 1830.
I certify that the late Lieutenant Adjutant John Henderson of the 10th Veteran Battalion was married by me to Maria Gilroy in the Parish Church of Andhanan on Monday the 1st day of November 1830. (Andhanan 12th Nov 1835)
 John and Maria had three children.


Frances Mary Henderson 1832-1907
Frances was the eldest child of Maria Gilroy and John Henderson, born the 12th October 1832 when John and Maria were living at Dunmaw Cottage. 
BIRTH - At her father's house, Leighsbrook, County Meath, Maria, wife of John Henderson, Esq., of Dunmaw Cottage, in the said county, of a daughter.

Frances was baptised on 26th December 1832.
BAPTISM - Frances Mary, daughter of John Henderson and Maria, his wife, born 12th Oct 1832 baptised on 26th December 1832 by me, Hamilton, Vicar of Meath Diocese Athlumney.

Frances married Edgar William L'Estrange, Esq., in Dublin in 1855. Frances was aged 22 and Edgar 28.
MARRIAGE - September 19, in St. Peter's Church, Dublin, Edgar W L'Estrange, Esq., of Dublin, to Frances Mary, eldest daughter of the late Captain John Henderson.

Frances and Edgar had six children between the years of 1858 and 1872.  Over the years the family lived at 43 Ranelagh Rd (1859), 71 Grafton St (1863), 39 Dawson St (1870), and 79 Grafton St (1892), 66 Grafton St Dublin (1894), 97 Rathmines Rd (1900), 79a Rathmines Rd (1903) Ireland. Frances frequently visited her aunt Emily Hudson nee Gilroy at Bache Hall, Chester where many photographs were taken with her children. Frances passed away in 1907 at Florence Rd, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.
DEATH - Administration of the estate of Frances Mary L'Estrange late of Claremont Florence-road Bournemouth County Hants. England Married Woman who died 6 July 1907 granted at Dublin to Emily J. Smith (Wife of William J Smith) Effects £6.
Edgar followed his sons to Brisbane, QLD, Australia, where he died in 1913 aged 86.


Mary Ann Henderson 1834-1906
 Mary was born in 1834 while the family were in Castletown Queens, Laois, Ireland.
BAPTISM - I certify that Maryanne the daughter of the late Lieutenant Adjutant John Henderson and Maria Angelica his wife was baptised by me in Castletown Laois on 18th Oct 1834. - (dated 14th Nov 1835)

Mary did not marry and was a frequent visitor her aunt Emily Hudson nee Gilroy where she spent time with her L'Estrange nieces and nephews at Bache Hall, Chester, England.

Mary Ann died in south Dublin, Ireland 1906 aged 72.

John Henderson born 1835
John was born in September 1835, a few weeks before his father passed away at the home of his maternal grandfather, Doctor Peter Gilroy. John's parents, John and Maria, were living at Dunmaw Cottege, Meath but had relocated to Leighbrooke for their health.

John was baptised on 28th October, sadly his father passed away a few days later on 3rd November.
BIRTH - On the 5th inst, at her father's house, Leighsbrook, Navan, the lady of John Henderson, Esq, of a son.
